Respected Prashant Bhai, Just now we arrived at Kolkata from Baroda after participating in "StampMania 2009" from 18th to 20th December. I want to congratulate all the management staff on conducting & organizing one of the best philatelic exhibitions I have ever participated during the last 40 years in India.

I took various dealers & collectors from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Of course "The Mecca Of Indian Philately" Kolkata, accumulating a total of 25 people, all of whom attended the exhibition & participated in the "Marathon Walk" followed by the "Bullock Cart Mail Carrier", which was an unique experience & personally I feel that it was carried out for the first time ever in any Philatelic Gathering of such magnitude. Of Course, some small but ignorable mistakes might have occurred but those are bound to happen in a gala event of this stature & hence should completely be overlooked.

I am quite sure any other Philatelic Society In India will not be able to match your unparalleled achievement & accomplishment of Uniting such a large no. of philatelists on such a grand scale, flawlessly and perfectly, under a single platform, uniting them for the common cause of Philatelic progress of India.

The Venue was fairly large and accommodated frames as well as dealer booths. Something will have to be done about outdated frames which are in bad condition and that was the only blot. Every thing, right from the conception, advertising, communication, the special covers as a run up to stampmania, getting the exhibits, handling and despatch of the exhibits, a beautiful souvenir, awards and anything I may have missed, was simply superlative! Unfortunately, I could not attend the event in person but I am told that the trade fair was the best we have had in India so far. Back in Delhi conducting workshops in schools I have been promoting the idea of making exhibits of one frame only and this has been extremely popular with school children who had started making exhibits. In my opinion this is the first ever exhibition held under professional management and real professional way of organising the show. Even state and national level exhibitions lack professional touch. The site you have developed is wonderful. Secondly, so far in all the exhibitions I have observed that names of participating dealers are not announced in advance. I have attended foreign exhibitions where they happily announce names of participating dealers on their web site, you are the first person who matched this foreign professional way of announcing list of partcipating dealers. I am thrilled and waiting to vist the exhibition. I am sure this will revive the interest of masses in philately. This is just like 20-20 in cricket ,which has rejuvinated that sport. The same way this one frame event, first of its kind in India at National level will imbibe energy in this hobby. I propose if this cicrular is sent to all the local schools at least inviting them to visit the event so that young generation can have a feel of it.
